Papa Fasoranti says Adebanjo remains Ag. leader of Afenifere
Leader of the Pan Yoruba Social Cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasranti has said that Chief Ayo Adebanjo remains the acting leader of the group, contrary to some media reports.
In a statement signed by Mr. Adedapo Abiola, the Personal Assistant to Fasoranti, the Afenifere leader said, “It has come to Papa R.F. Fasonranti’s knowledge that some sections of the media, especially the social media, have been ascribing to him false statements designed to cause confusion and polarize Afenifere.
“I have Papa’s permission to announce that he didn’t say that Chief Ayo Adebanjo is no longer the acting leader of Afenifere or that all future Afenifere meetings should henceforth be held at his residence in Akure.

Papa’s main concern is the interest of the Yoruba in the complex political situation in Nigeria. It is also his concern that Afenifere should survive in dignity and remain a purveyor of the interest of the Yoruba race,” the statement read.
Recall that recently the Presidential candidate of the APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu received the blessing of Afenifere Leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti in Ondo State ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.
The meeting in Akure Ondo State was held at the residence of the leader of the Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti.
Pa Fasoranti and other leaders of the South West at the meeting wished Asiwaju Bola Tinubu well as he embarks on the presidential race.
