Police nabs MASSOB members at Ikom

The Cross River State Police command at Ikom has arrested twenty-three members of the outlawed mass movement for the Actualization of Biafra (MASSOB)

The suspects were picked-up at multiple locations like the watch repair shops, while others were arrested from their homes, around and outside the area.

Some wives of the arrested persons represented by Mrs. Beatrice Ikechukwu Ani, the wife of Ikechukwu Ani lamented that their husbands who were transferred to the State Police Headquarters in Calabar from Ikom have been without food since their arrest and called on the police to release their husbands without further delay.

DSP Irene Ugbo the Cross River State Police Command Spokesperson denied knowledge of the incident but a source at the Anti-Cultism Unit says the AIG Zone Six and the state police commissioner have directed that nobody should be allowed access to them in the unit.

The wives of Ibe, Nnamdi Okafor, Ebere Chukwu, Celestine Ndibe, and Emmanuel Nachi jointly called for the release of their husbands.
