RCCG cleric sermonizes on transience of human life at funeral service

The minister in-charge of Maranatha Cathedral, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) International Parish 1, Calabar, Pastor Ukpai Ibitham has urged Christians to be reminded that human life is short compared to eternity and that even the longest human life is insignificant when compared to eternity.

Pastor Ibitham in a short exhortation at funeral service held in honour of Late Mr. Samuel Omozojie, Sobe, Owan East, LGA, Edo State while referencing Job 14:1-2 “Man that is born of woman is a f few days, and is full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down; he flet also like a shadow and continued not” implored followers of Christ to be aware of an end to everything in life.

The 63yrs old was a Software Development Consultant and Senior IT Specialist in APM Terminals Apapa Ltd before he took ill which resulted in his death on May 16th 2025 in Calabar. The service was on Saturday June 7th 2025 and conducted by The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Maranatha Cathedral, 135, Ndidem Usang Iso Road, behind Cybermul, Calabar, Cross River State.

The University of Lagos graduate of Computer Science was a devout Christian and family man whose vacuum will be hard to fill according to his wife, Mrs. Grace Omozojie in a thanksgiving service to appreciate God for making her late husband’s burial in Calabar a huge success where she described him as a brilliant, genial and amiable man.

The funeral service was held on Sunday June 8th 2025, conducted by RCCG, Maranatha Cathedral, Calabar after his interment on Saturday June 7th 2025.

The occasion was attended by friends, family and sympathizers of the deceased and condolence messages was received from Pastor Kunle Oladokun, Pastor Effiong. O. U. Ekpo, Surv. Ekusoh Ogban, Men’s Fellowship President, RCCG, Maranatha Cathedral among others.
