Senator Jarigbe wins Cross River North PDP primaries, others
The Senator representing Cross River Northern Senatorial District in the National Assembly Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has emerged the winner in the 2023 PDP Primaries with an overwhelming voice vote of delegates.
Senator Jarigbe who was unopposed was affirmed by 153 adhoc delegates and five national delegates from each of the five Local Government Areas, Ogoja, Obudu, Yala, Obanliku, and Bekwara who unanimously consented his candidacy.
Also, Ntufam Ekpo Okon has defeated his closest rival for the Cross River South Senatorial District primaries under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ntufam Dr. Joe Edet.
Ntufam Ekpo Okon who is an Ex-PDP state chairman in Cross River State defeated Ntufam Dr. Joe Edet who was the former deputy chief of staff to Governor Liyel Imoke by 186 to 47 votes.
The returning officer in the polls Mr. Festus Ibude said they had 235 delegates but 234 were accredited for the election with one void vote and one absent, in the Central Senatorial District Hon. Bassey Ewa defeated Goddy Eta by 102 to 94 votes to emerge a PDP candidate in the 2023 Elections.
The election materials arrived late in the various venues but the exercise was smooth and generally peaceful.
