US ready to deport 79 Nigerians listed among ‘Worst-of-the-Worst’ criminal aliens
The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced plans to deport about 79 Nigerians identified as among the “worst of the worst” criminal aliens in the country.
According to findings on the DHS website on Monday, the individuals were convicted of crimes including fraud, drug trafficking, assault, manslaughter, robbery, and other serious offences. The announcement comes amid an intensified nationwide crackdown on criminal immigrants.
“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),” a DHS statement said. “Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling President Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations, starting with the worst of the worst, including the illegal aliens you see here.”
The Nigerians listed for deportation include Boluwaji Akingunsoye, Ejike Asiegbunam, Emmanuel Mayegun Adeola, Bamidele Bolatiwa, Ifeanyi Nwaozomudoh, Aderemi Akefe, Solomon Wilfred, Chibundu Anuebunwa, Joshua Ineh, Usman Momoh, Oluwole Odunowo, Bolarinwa Salau, Oriyomi Aloba, and dozens of others.
The crackdown has reportedly caused some Nigerians to go into hiding, while others have quietly returned home, amid house-to-house enforcement actions that have sparked fear, controversy, and protests across several U.S. communities.
The DHS and ICE enforcement actions are part of the Trump administration’s broader effort to curb criminal and illegal immigration, drawing significant attention both domestically and internationally.
