Women group constructs N2m culvert project in Cross River community
The August Women Association of Aduma, Mkpani Community, in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River has completed a culvert project worth Two million naira in the community.
Speaking during the Commissioning of the project on Friday, the Clan Head of the Community, the Okpebi of Aduma, John Etta commended the women group for the initiative.
“I must commend you for this noble initiative and for successfully executing this project according to schedule.
“You have by this feat distinguished your group from other associations in Aduma community, especially in the area of infrastructural development, ” he said.
The traditional ruler said he would continue to support all the different associations in the community, and advised the women not to relent in the pursuit of their set objectives.
He stressed the need for them to take seriously their Children’s education, saying that in their hands lie the future of the community.
The President of the women group, Mrs Adiah Ubi said they decided to embark on the project because of it’s importance to the people of Aduma.
She expressed happiness on the timely completion of the project, adding that the association have also been involved in some other developmental projects in the area including scholarships to selected pupils in primary schools.
