2022 DEMOCRACY DAY: Nigeria has cause to celebrate_Pastor Ekaji
The resident minister of Family Worship Center, Gomay’s Plaza Hotel, Atekong Drive in Calabar, Cross River State, Pastor Peter Oko Ekaji has recounted reasons Nigeria should celebrate the 2022 Democracy day.
Ekaji cited the peaceful transition from one democratic government to another since its inception in 1999 which culminated in the reversal of the initial May 29 to June 12 of every year in 2018 by the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He recalled the recovery of the nation’s economy from the Covid- 19 pandemic as well as the unity and peaceful co-existence of the people of Nigeria notwithstanding the surge of insecurity perpetrated by bandits, terrorists, and kidnappers as justification to give thanks to God. as it falls on Sunday, a Christian worship day.
And reflecting on the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election by the military junta on June 24th, 1993, he said actualising June 12 twenty-five years after as an anniversary to commemorate the day democracy was truncated is a reason to celebrate. In his sermon referencing Habakkuk 2:3,4 “ And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it, for the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry,” he said the period of its recognition was the appointed time.
He used the occasion to thank the church for her fervent prayers and intercession for the nation which has diminished darkness and ushered in this moment of glory that hitherto was delayed by the political impasse.
Family Worship Center is a global love and care ministry with Pastor Sarah Omakwu as Senior Pastor who is passionate about the restoration of addicted and afflicted souls lost in sin to restore their salvation in order to attain their destinies in Christ and prepare them for eternity after life on earth.
