PDP NA candidate commend Wike’s decision to release stadium for Atiku’s campaign rally
The sudden U-turn by the leader of the G-5 governors forum aka integrity Group by allowing the presidential candidate of his party and the former vice-president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to use the Adokie Amiesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State for his political campaign ahead of the 2023 general elections has been commended by the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, Hon. Austin Aidam.
Aidam while fielding questions from newsmen in Calabar, the Cross River State capital on Tuesday, February 7, said his re-approval of the facility for the presidential campaign rally of Atiku scheduled to hold on February 11, is a plus and booster for the PDP to win the general elections from top to bottom.
Governor Wike had acknowledged that the re-approval was a sequel to multiple calls and pleas by concerned Nigerians who asked him to reconsider his earlier position on the facility. He affirmed that Mr. Siminialayi Fubara remains the governorship candidate of the PDP in Rivers State.
The Rivers state governor used the campaign flag-off rally at Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of the State to describe the Peoples Democratic Party leadership as armed robbers from where he and others would not run because they built the PDP House and interrogated claims by the party’s National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu that they are reaching out to the G-5 governors. According to Wike, Ayu was economical with the truth when he claimed that one of the G-5 governors visited him at his residence.
Hon. Aidam claimed that the Cross River State PDP governorship candidate Senator (Prof.) Sandy Onor is the candidate to beat in the 2023 general elections.
Ntufam Ekpo Okon, the PDP Senatorial candidate for Southern Senatorial district said that the recent sending of N 10,000 online to electorates by a certain political party will not help them to win the elections as Nigerians have suffered enough and need to heave a sigh of relief from suffocating social and economic burden of the APC led administration in the country.
Hon. Aidam is challenging, Hon. Email Inyang of the APC and Mr. Jesse Ejemot of the Labour Party for the Akamkpa/Biase Federal House of Representatives seat in the National Assembly.
